This bill would amend Article 3 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the O.C.G.A. to authorize LBOE’s to adopt policies allowing student inspirational messages at student assemblies. LBOE’s may adopt a policy that would be required to include:

1. Students who are responsible for organizing any student led portion of an assembly would have sole discretion in determining if an inspirational message would be included, and they would choose the student volunteers to deliver the message.

2. School personnel could not participate in, or otherwise influence the determination to include an inspiration or who would deliver it; nor could they monitor or review the student volunteer’s message.
